As business grew they moved to a larger place on Seymour Street where they manufactured meats, had a retail store and began wholesaling products to other stores.

In 1957 Wohrle's Foods bought the U.S. Beef Company located at 1619 East Street in Pittsfield, now at the current location. They added more product lines and increased the wholesale customer base from stores to restaurants, schools, nursing homes and hospitals.

After John’s death in 1969, daughter Barbara Pickwell and son-in-law Walter Pickwell continued to add more product lines and increased sales territories to include parts of Vermont, New York and Connecticut.

Later, son Jon Pickwell , and son-in-law Rob Kessler, added fresh seafood, paper goods, an outlet store, and most recently, fresh produce to become a full-service food service distributor and continues to manufacture frankfurters and sausage products.

Wohrles recently opened a new food warehouse managed by daughter, Lynn Kessler. The store features restaurant-quality products, weekly and seasonal specials. They are open to the public with no membership fees. Wohrle's works with many churches, non-profit organizations and little league
sports teams in their fund-raising efforts.

Four generations have been involved in the family business including five great-grandchildren
of John and Anna Wohrle.
